Beaches in Novalja

The natural beauties of Novalja are best seen in its beautiful beaches, which are among the most beautiful beaches on the Adriatic and maybe in Croatia. They are: Zrće, Caska, Straško, Babe, Trinćel, Braničevica and Vrtić.

Zrće beach, as well as Planjka beach (Trinćel – Old Novalja) and Straško beach (camp Straško) are beaches marked with a Blue flag.

Zrće beach is a gravel beach near Novalja, located nearby camp Straško. Zrće beach can be reached on foot, by car or a mini-bus which regularly drives from Novalja and from the camp. At the beach, there are several beach bars, a water toboggan, wakeboard (a combination of water skiing and surfing), rental of jet skis, chairs and beach umbrellas, beach volleyball and other activities, especially for children. In the evening, the beach turns into the centre of night entertainment of the island of Pag, known for great night fun not only on the Adriatic, but entire Croatia.

Vrtić beach is a small sand beach in the centre of Novalja, which aspires to become the main town beach because of its proximity to the centre and sand-gravel surface which is great for families with small children. From the beach, there is a wonderful view of Novalja and its bay, especially in the evening.

Straško beach is located south of Novalja in camp Straško. At the beach, which is around 1.5 km long, there is mostly gravel and a little sand, but after a few meters, the sand bottom is reached. The beach is located in a holly oak and pine tree forest with lots of natural shade. The beach has a Blue flag, lifeguards, first aid, disabled access and other content adjusted to special needs persons, catering facilities, rental of scooters, pedal boats, kayaks, diving school, showers, sanitary spaces, etc. The beach has zones for different activities for kids and adults – animation.
Since Straško beach is facing southwest, its gravel beach makes a great viewpoint for magnificent sunsets behind Kvarner islands and north Adriatic, towards which it is facing from the front.

The beaches are very spacious, with sand and gravel, clean sea and excellent access, and therefore they are especially convenient for families with kids. Every beach in Novalja, whether with the blue flag rewarded beaches, or "ordinary" beaches, all have a richness of content, catering, infrastructure to animation.
