Towns on the island of Pag

Dinjiška, Miškovići - First larger towns on the island of Pag are right after the crossing of the Pag bridge.

On the island of Pag, one can still see the production of salt with the old process of drying in smaller clay pools into which sea water is poured. On the island, there are processes like that in the extension of the sea bay by Dinjiška (old abandoned factory) and in the valley where one part of Pag gulf by the town of Pag comes to land (active production).

Vlašići, Smokvica – Small picturesque towns on the island of Pag which offer complete rest in a quiet environment.

Povljana - The tourist centre of the island of Pag is facing west, and thus protected from strong gale and south winds. It offers protection and shelter to the sea and land traveller, the lover of island rocks and plants in the sun and salt.

Košljun – It is located in the picturesque bay bordered by a pine tree forest 7 km southwest from the town of Pag. An important island port in the past for a quick connection to Dalmatia today is an ideal place for a peaceful family vacation.

Šimuni – in a quiet bay facing the open sea, 11 km west from the town of Pag, by the road Pag – Novalja, there is a fishing and tourist settlement Šimuni.

Town of Pag - The largest town on the island of Pag is the town of Pag. It is a town of sea salt. Because of its importance in the 15th century, Pag was built as a planned fort town, and it gives a special feeling when toured. In Pag, one can still see salt production with the old process of drying in smaller clay pools into which sea water is poured. These salt factories, besides the authenticity they offer, are a great motif for photography. The town of Pag is also a town of well-known Pag lace, which has been cherished for centuries, and each one is unique, and the slow and difficult handwork lives today on the streets of the old city.

Kolan - The central town of our young municipality is Kolan, and the inhabitants work is mostly raising sheep, growing grapes and recently, because of the proximity to the sea and beautiful beaches, tourism.

Mandre - Tourist town located on the south side of the island of Pag with a beautiful view of Silba and Olib and the small islands of Maun and Škrda which have lots of bays and beautiful beaches.

Kustići, Zubovići, Metajna – On the stone hillside of the Pag gulf, they are called Barbati and they attract more and more tourists who want peace and village idyll during vacation.

Island of PagNovalja - The tourist centre of the island of Pag and the favourite destination of many tourists. During the last few decades, it has greatly developed thanks to tourism which has completely changed its look and the life of its inhabitants. Exceptional natural beauties have served as a strong foundation for tourism development, and the sped-up construction and infrastructure expansion, communication, tourist structures and other activities are continuously opening up new development possibilities.

Stara Novalja – A former handful of houses by the St. Peter church, it developed during the tourism age up to the sand beach of Trinćel. Today, it is a popular tourist settlement for a quiet vacation on the island of Pag.

Lun - The northern most village lies on a stone plateau, without a field. Therefore, olives were grown mostly, which even today is the picture of this landscape.

Nearby settlements - Jakišnica, Dudići, Varsan and Potočnica, located in picturesque bays, are also a great choice for a pleasant vacation.
